Dev log

Short notes as I build things. Newest first.

How this page is built

The moving background is a WebGL fluid simulation, based on Pavel Dobryakov's WebGL fluid simulation and written out in plain JavaScript for this page.

Everything else is deliberately plain: no JavaScript frameworks, and the fonts, styles and icons come from the same place as the page. My contact details aren't in the code at all. They sit in Cloudflare, and the buttons redirect there. If the motion gets to be too much, there's a pause button in the corner.

What Wayfinder is

Wayfinder is a leveling route planner for World of Warcraft Forever. Open the map, see the quests your character can take, pick the ones you want, and shape them into a route you can follow one step at a time.

It can also build routes for you. Tell it who you're playing and how you want to level, and it puts a full route together that you can adjust, save and take with you.

I've been working on it since the start of October. It's still private for now.

This page is live

mains.page went live today. Almost everything I've built before this has stayed private, so having something public is new. For now it's a home for the rest of my tools, once they're ready to be seen.

The page loads everything from its own server, apart from Cloudflare's own analytics.
